Mexico Trip (Part Five): Beach
I don't really feel like typing but here's a small video of the beach we were at on the Friday (05/02/08). I'll do more blogging but today I'm not into it
OH MY F*CK... NO I shouldn't censor myself FUCK!
So uhmmm... You know how I told you all about my lost phone in Mexico trip the first night I was there? Well I got my phone bill and guess how much my bill came out to be... I'll just show you some screenshots of my bill... click the image to get the full image! FUCK YOU AT&T!
586.77!!!! 586.77!!! That is completely ridiculous, I know I was suppose to call them right as I lost the phone, but I was in Mexico on a trip and I didn't want to deal with that and it really wasn't easy getting the number to AT&T to suspend my phone when I'm on a Sprint Business Trip. So I lost my phone like on 04/30/08 around 8-9ish and here are the changes on my bill... Oh and I'm going to show you the numbers dialed, beside my numbers because who the hell am I going to call in Mexico and San Diego... I have no one I know living in those areas!
The line on the last one is where it's about the time I lost the phone... I think it might be a little lower too... Like seriously how the hell does this dude put close to 8MB of downloading on one session of browsing on my phone? I don't think I do that regularly! I'm annoyed I know I know I shouldn't called AT&T right as I lost it but I wasn't thinking correctly the whole trip... I just thought it could be returned back to the hotel and everything will be fine... NOPE didn't show up (of course) That's why I'm usually never optimistic I hate thinking that way, the world screws you over and good things usually don't always happen to good people.
When I got back from Mexico, the next day Monday (05/05/08) I called to report it stolen... They suspended my account, that was easy yeah whatever... I called again I think Tuesday to activate an old phone I had laying around said they're not able to use my old sim because once it's deactivated it's deactivated and I'll have to go to an AT&T store to get one for free... I just thought whatever I rather just wait to get my stimulas check to get me another iPhone because really... I love that phone that has been part of me so long and it's just great. Wednesday I got my money and reactivated the phone and purchased the iPhone for 599.99 (less than what I paid for, for my 8gb phone because I purchased that on the first day) and activate it through iTunes that I have done previously with my last phone. Got an email saying my AT&T bill is ready... didn't check it til tonight (05/12/08) or midnight I guess... I was SHOCKED~!! SHOCKED!!! How much my bill was it's higher than what I paid the damn phone for!
I called AT&T just a little bit ago and explain my issue and the agent (Sheila) was saying that she can only credit me 200 bucks for courtesy... yeah right, that's ridiculous, that's still almost 400 bucks I have to still pay them and the charges are even more than that... I really didn't want to escalate the call to the supervisor but I need help I can't pay this bill, I waited probably 10 minutes for the supervisor (Louis) to come on, I explained the issue all he said that he can do is send some kind of investigation ticket to the "lost and stolen" department or whatever and they'll get back to me usually within 30 days... 30 days? But my payment is due on the 28th... I have great credit ya'll I have never paid any of my bills late ever. I hope they get back to me before that date... This sucks! I shouldn've asked for some kind of retentions department, they know they got me locked on a contract... and I can't threaten to go somewhere else if I have this damn iPhone because no other service provider has it... I better get my way when they contact me again!

Mexico Trip (Part Four): Award Ceremony & Club Chocolate? (05/01/08)
So there's Semi-Formal dinner in the evening and I came to Mexico dreading about wearing something "formal" but what I planned out wearing is "formal" but on a younger kind of cool perspective. I had a pink striped button down from Express that I unbutton pretty low, a dark navy blazer and pants from The Gap that I left the blazer unbuttoned, Some chucks and sunglasses. I thought hey I look pretty good so whatever I'm not going to conform to their terms. We all took group pictures before the dinner in "The Garden" it was so hot out, It's not fair to all the guys that are wearing the suit jackets we're probably all sweating standing on risers.
After the picture session, there was an open bar in the hallway in front of the Ballroom where we had dinner. I tried taking advantage of that kept going up there for Rum and Cokes and Margaritas. There was some Mexican drummers or whatever that was keeping us entertained before the dinner and some of us thought it'd be cool to take pictures and drum with them... I wasn't one of them...
The odd thing about dinner is that we didn't select our seats, they assigned our seats and none of the Des Moines people sat next to each other we all sat with people from other parts of Sprint. It was kind of cool because it's a way to get to know who and what goes on in Sprint. Another thing which kind of made me realize is that it's different because we're outsourced we're not really internal Sprint we don't get their benefits or their pay or a lot of their "insider information"... I felt a little out of place, like I wasn't actually good enough almost... I don't know... They served wine there so I kept drinking up that's pretty much the best thing to do. While we were sitting though we did have a little Award Ceremony for the people that has won the Crown Club twice or more. They all went up on stage and took a picture with an award that I guess we all had once we came back home. Funny thing about the winners... My boy Dan King had some fun going up there, he actually didn't win twice there was a mix up, there's actually more than one Dan King which really screwed up a lot of their trip as well with the rooms and activities. So I guess when they had the 2x winners someone tapped him on the shoulder and asked if he was Dan King, of course yeah he is, they told him he should be going up... I did not understand what was going on when he was up there. I thought our call center was the first time to qualify for this trip and he won twice? After that event I got what happened LOL. They had some more speakers... blah blah blah, and showed up where next year's destination would be for the Crown Club Trip it will be in the Dominican Republic.
Dinner was nice, it started out with some kind of weird wanton looking thing and salad. I'm so glad they served Fillet Minon, I really wanted some steak so that just came right on time! I don't know much to say about dinner just some conversation and eating not much a do there... Afterwards though it was time for the "Club Chocolate" night. It's interesting time, it's out in the courtyard area of the Hotel there were comfortable seating around and they were offering cigars. See I'm not a smoker at all, I actually hate smoking plenty but what I thought was we're in Mexico Bitch...It's time to look cool with a cigar and drink in my hand dressing all fancy. I don't know about that night we talked with some people but it wasn't really all great and it ended at 11pm. Towards the end though there was another higher person above MM that wanted to take us all out, I was down but it doesn't seem anyone else was so we kind of just stood that group up. I thought the night was just going to end right there but actually we found our hotel neighbors from North Carolina asking if we wanted to go out with them... Yes of course it's a whole new crowd non Des Moines and Winchester so it's a new experience...
We all rode cabs downtown. I think we ended at a club called Helio. For some odd reason we had VIP access there and had a seat next to the DJ and got completely Crunked up there. It was actually a real fun night just hanging out with strangers at a foreign country just partying. Taking shots there from the bar ladies is interesting, they have these girls with whistles that throw down 3-5 shots down your throat and spin your head in circles sometimes they put your head in their clevage or in this case they took your shirt off and put hot wax on your nipples... I don't know... Mexicans? We chilled there and then went down to the dance floor and did a little 1, 2, step, Girls are ridiculous if I remembered correctly this chick that was all over the bar with fake breast was showing off everything and even took another girl with her on the bar and just going "Girls Gone Wild." It's MAJOR I tell ya. I was pretty intoxicated after a while so I'm going to end most of it there... We went back to the hotel and passed out, tomorrow we had to do snorkling.
