So I've been looking around trying to find a damn job because I'm sick of the place I'm at (EDS) and I think my department is soon to be going downhill... So I have my resume around at Monster.com and Careerbuilders.com with just weird offering that I'm not interested or even qualified to even work. Those searches are messed up. I think what I got a list of opening based on my resume and what I'm looking for and on top of the list was a High School Principal... Yeah like I'm qualified for that position... All I really have experience in unfortunately is Customer Service (Call Center) I don't want to sell things and most call centers seem to be paying just as much as where I currently work at.
I get calls from some random places and they offer such weird positions like one is to do a Tax Auction, which I've done before and hated it... It's like a one or two day thing where they call out your number to see if you want that property or something... I'll pass, there's another offer from a group saying they are a branch of citigroup which when I googled their name it came up with a lot of fraud entries, they were also very shady on the phone as well. Like not explaining exactly what they do over the phone and they just wanted me to show up to see if I'm interested before going on with the next meeting or whatever... Yeah it's weird so I passed. I did get one interview in at ADP... oh man that was HELL.
Let's start by saying interviews are not my strongest I am really bad at interviews I just can't for the life of me speak correctly and just stutter throughout the whole time, never being able to get out what I want... anyway here's my story on that. I thought I got it all together I googled some common questions that are asked in interviews and just answered it like I was talking to someone I practiced in front of the mirror over and over trying to get myself hyped for it. I ironed my clothes and all for the next day and set the alarm for 6:15 which my interview was at 8:00am. Well I woke up at 7:50! My alarm was actually set for 6:15PM instead of AM! OMG! I was freaking! I tried to get ready as fast as I could... and drove all the way to the west side for the interview being late and just apologizing to the interviewer saying I had a hard time finding the place when I knew exactly where it was... Oh God I usually prepare myself while driving like just go over what I'm going to say about myself before going in but I didn't have the time and I was just freaking out about being late. Going back to the interview... I just couldn't pull it together everything I practiced the night before went out the window and I just felt like a complete dumbass throughout the whole interview he asked me a question and I was stuck I just didn't know what to say, I think I literally said I don't know. OMG! Worse interview I had ever had! If I was him I woudln't have hired me either! The interview was on Friday (5/30/08) and on Monday (06/02/08) I got an email that there going with someone else... DUH!
This may be far-fetched but if someone is hiring in Des Moines, IA! Here's my resume... (I modified my address and phone number for obvious reasons but I did leave my email)
